    "Rising star? More like unreachable star," said Makabayan senatorial candidate Teddy Casiño of Moody's Analytics calling the Philippines "Asia's Rising Star."

    "Maganda mang pakinggan, cannot be reached naman ng karaniwang tao. Without regular jobs and wage hikes, growth forecasts are meaningless," the progressive solon said.

    The report said the Philippines could grow between 6.5 to 7 percent this year and would outperform both emerging and advanced economies.

    Says poverty survey is the only survey that matters

    Makabayan senatorial bet Teddy Casiño today blamed the Aquino administration's futile efforts at anti-poverty programs resulting in nothing but stagnant and widespread poverty in the country.

    The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) revealed on Tuesday that the poverty incidence in the country remain unchanged since 2006.

    "If we follow the logic of the President's tag line and the recent survey, it would mean, kung maraming mahirap, marami ding korap," Casiño said.
